It works fine on my OpenSolaris 2008.05 here, with a new profile.

I check the gnome config key/value pairs for http handler:

/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/command:
$path_for_firefox-3.0rc1/firefox "%s"
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/enabled: yes
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/needs_terminal: no

What does "FAIL" mean here? no response from the system? Could you
enable the checkbox for the key
/desktop/gnome/url-handlers/http/needs_terminal and have a try again? A
gnome-terminal should pop up. Is there any error message after that?

Cheers,
-Alfred
