/bin has been a link to /usr/bin on Solaris since version 2.0 in the early
90's, so this step is redundant.    (If you don't have this link on your
system, you may have run into one of the GNOME or StarOffice upgrade bugs
that accidentally broke it at various points, but a fresh install and a
correct system will have it, and far more than VirtualBox breaks if you
don't.)
