Don't people notice the memory usage of programs any longer, since
evolution takes a lot more memory than thunderbird.

Evolution has 4 processes with a total virtual memory 470MB
Thunderbird has 3 process with a total virtual memory 140MB

And don't get me started on the exchange module will takes even more!

Stick with Firefox and Thunderbird.
