Thank you for the pointers! Now I have to dissect `postrun` himself. From the descriptions, it would seem these were specifically implemented for GNOME/root/usr infrastructure. I might be able to adapt `postrun` for $PKG_INSTALL_ROOT/opt, but that will require further inspection.
