Yes, the name of the GDM SVC manifest has changed from gdm-login to just gdm. This was recommended by ARC to better conform with the CDE naming standard. This will cause some problems for people who switch from the current GDM in Nevada to the new GDM. However, since we don't intend to change this in a patch for Solaris 10 and we haven't yet shipped Nevada, I don't think we need to fix this so it updates svc automatically for you on package upgrade. Instead some users simply need to fix this by hand by running these commands: svcadm disable gdm-login svccfg import /var/svc/manifest/application/graphical-login svcadm enable gdm That should get things working again.
