Fixing this problem will require writing preinstall and postinstall scripts for the SUNWgnome-display-mgr package. Since GDM is not the default login program in Nevada, I'm not sure the extra work of supporting users transitioning from an earlier version of Nevada is worth the effort. There is a workaround well documented on the OpenSolaris website and can be included in the release notes. But if people think this needs to be done before Nevada integration, I can work with RE on this since I always need help figuring out how to write preinstall and postinstall scripts. Brian
