This works fine as long as "n" is unique. But if you login to a remote
host, at least one that still uses dtlogin, it kills any current
sessions that use the same value of "n" (e.g., the default, 0). This
is actually (sort of) documented, so it really isn't a bug, even
if it is rather annoying. But:

This was submitted as a bug to bugs.solaris.com, but vanished,along
with many others, I understand. This makes the remote login from gdm
utterly useless, at least here. Should this be resubmitted as a bug, and
if so, against what?

It also appears to be impossible to enter the root password and edit
the gdm configuration from the gdm login form.
