The text at the top of the Update manager window states

"Click Update All to create a new boot environment and install all 
packages in it."

This is correct. The new BE is the updated one.

The text in the Update All dialog which you quote is misleading. I have 
logged
http://defect.opensolaris.org/bz/show_bug.cgi?id=6132

After I updated to build 105 and logged into the new BE there were no 
updates available.
