Alfred, I know that this was intended for Brian but my opinion is that
tests should still be done against Solaris because of certain
implementation differences.  Some programs due to compile options,
workarounds, and other circumstances may not be reproducible in the same
version on the counterparts on Linux distributions such as Ubuntu or
Fedora.  There are probably a few things that are compiled against the
same version of GCC with the same performance options using the same
libraries but then there's probably a large chunk that isn't since Sun
maintains support for compiling against Sun Studio which be exhibit
aberrant behavior.
