I'm totally with Fabio here. The customer shouldn't see our username.
The whole process must go through the reseller. How else can we keep track
of the process?
The customer is transferring is to renew, right? So yes, we'll have
to charge them.
If the customer was issued a tracking # and referenced that on the
fax. Then the reply email would show the reseller name and email (NOT
the username). This would eliminate some of the problems associated with this.
Of course the best thing would be to automate this process and make it
at least as easy as a registrar transfer.
EF> Cheers all!
EF> I have a concern about this. Perhaps I'm not getting something?
EF> The link below explains how a inter-openSRS transfer is done.

EF> It says the customer sends the fax. We need to charge them? The only thing
EF> I can see is that they have to send our username. They won't be able to get
EF> it till they ask us. Thus we can charge them. But once they have the
EF> username they can then proceed to transfer many names without being charged.
EF> (Granted we are notified of the request as well.) Thus the customer should
EF> never get ahold of our username. Not to mention the request and
EF> confirmation email that is sent to the admin contact and the reseller spells
EF> it out.
EF> At first I though I (the reseller) was to confirm it, but the message was
EF> addressed to the customer, ( I was only carboned copied) and
EF> the customer did reply, and the transfer went through.
EF> An example of the request email:
EF> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> Subject: OpenSRS Admin: domain-name.com
EF> Hello,
EF> A faxed request has been made to move this domain to a different
EF> reseller:username.
EF> From:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> To:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> Please reply to confirm this transfer.
EF> Thanks.
EF> And an example after the customer confirms:
EF> To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
EF> Hi!
EF> The domain has been transferred to new reseller:username.
EF> Thanks.
EF> So how does this work exactly? Should I be concerned?
EF> Thanks for any help anyone can give?
