+1 I like the double meaning of Airflow Current

There are also things you can do with air flows, like: Airflow Glide.

I think draught, unfortunately has negative connotations in English; draughty: (of an enclosed space) cold and uncomfortable because of currents of cool air.

How about "*Airflow Draught*" (sorry Breeze is already taken):

One more thing:

Does anyone have a more interesting idea on how to name our summits
without calling them summits? Like they do with Tensorflow World,
Flink
Forward..

We don't need to spend much time thinking about it, if we can't come
up
with anything. Just a thought.

Hi Jarek,

It will be great to have Polidea's support as well. I think we
need
to
submit the proposal before going on Thanksgiving break to set the
desirable dates. That's is usually the hardest part. The rest of
the
details, like sponsors, venues and volunteers can be updated
later
when we
have more information.

When do
you think you will be submitting it ?

I am talking to Polidea's Board and I would like to get them on
board
(pun
intended ;)). And I need to tell them when they need to decide
if/how
Polidea as organisation is involved on top of our individual
commitment.

Thanks everyone for your feedback and to those who are

I put together a summit proposal that we need to submit to
the
ASF
planners
soon [1]. It is a draft which I copied from Beam Summit and
then
edited.
Please add your comments to it. I also added names of
volunteers
who
wants
to help to organize each summit, please add your names and
affiliation
if I
missed someone. My suggestion is that we don't have more
than 2
organizers
in the committee from the same company. These summits are
going
to
be
funded by the Sponsoring Committee, so if any of you (or your
company)
would like to be a sponsor, please add it to the table as
well.
+Maxime Beauchemin <maximebeauche...@gmail.com> you
volunteered
to
be
the
point of contact with the ASF, so I guess you will send the
proposal
once
we review it? The priority here is to set on dates. Other
processes,
like
CFPs can be added later.

Let me know how else I can help.

Thanks,
Aizhamal

Hi Airflow community,

I’d like to kick of a thread to discuss the
organization
of
two
Airflow
summits in 2020, one in North America, one in
Europe.
This
idea
has
been
brought to the attention of the PMC, and with their
consensus I
am
sharing
it here.

These summits will be community events, and an
opportunity
to
bring
together users and contributors of Apache Airflow,
and
collaborate
on
the
development of the project.

Proposed dates and locations are as follows, but we
can
discuss
any
other
options as well:

- NA: Bay Area, late May or early June
- Europe: London or Amsterdam or Warsaw mid Sep or
early
Oct

If you’d like to help with the organization or
sponsor
the
event
please
let us know. If you know of any suitable venues,
let
us
know as
well.
We
are thinking of 200-300 people for each summit.

Thanks,
Aizhamal
