I wouldn't want to. Not because the change was too big, but simply to keep this release (and its process) as low level as possible. If we add the javacc changes, why not do the same for the VSS changes or the .... <javah> is pretty pressing for people using JDK 1.4.2. This is almost as bad as the Ant 1.4.x won't work with WinXP and JDK 1.4 problem we had eighteen months ago. VAJ is in as the people who will benefit from the changes won't benefit from Ant 1.6 (as VAJ runs on a JDK 1.1 VM).
