Hi Andrew,
Thanks for your response. I downloaded your .odt file some time ago. I
mentioned that several times on this admittedly confusing thread. I looked
at chapter 9 (Formatting Macros) but I'm not sure what problem this is
intended to solve. Since I use the IDE for editing macros, I have the
colour scheme already. The mysterious "argument is not optional" error
was "solved" by not choosing to the run the macro from the IDE (Organize
Macros--> select the relevant macro and click the Run button) but rather
running them from the spreadsheet. I have no explanation for this behaviour
but at least I can continue using the "run-from-spreadsheet-and-not-IDE"
method. The same macro throws up the error in the former method but not the
latter. I'm sure it's my own ignorance that's at the bottom of all this.
