I'm not sure which code you are referring to but I changed map to various other names when Bernard Marcelly pointed out the "smart feature" and suggested I "uncheck : Automatically find column and row labels". I also followed this suggestion and have had no problems with any version of "map" since then. Thanks for your message. Jonathan
