I agree! The critics messages are probably the things that lag the most in
all languages because they are so much work to translate. I discovered
after I compiled the statistics that the French "translation" for the
critics consisted *entirely* of empty strings. Good for the statistics, but
not so good for the users. Because the statistics count number of
properties rather than number of words, they are overestimating that
coverage because the critics messages are so much longer than average.

That's a point that I hadn't considered, but I bet you'd find that English
students aren't very strong in the technical language either (particularly
for something like UML). Still the easier we can make it for students, the
better.

I was going to say Chinese and Spanish. Obviously Chinese is a lot harder
than the western languages. France is curious. They seem to be fairly big
UML adopters, but there's limited interest in ArgoUML (although we do/did
have at least one French developer). Perhaps other tools are popular there?

Leveraging Linux distributions like Debian to find translation resources is
a good idea. Anyone know where to find other communities of translators?

(On the other hand, the Debian distribution of ArgoUML seems to be a mess,
but I'll start a separate thread about that.)
