I would love this too.  I see ArgoUML as being of particular interest to
UML learners rather than UML experts (experts probably already have Rose
or something else).  Students will want something cheap/free that they
can use to grasp the basics with, focusing mainly on the sketching
rather than the syntax.

I currently don't use ArgoUML at work for quick sketches because it
takes longer than in a drawing package or on paper.

On other applications I've seen the use of a basic/advanced mode option
in the bottom right corner of the GUI.  In 'basic' mode the interface is
vastly simplified.  Perhaps this is an option for ArgoUML.
