Introduction? Daniel?
Yes. I'd like to introduce myself as the newest member of the Digital Distribution Global Training Services team (notice the cool new email address). I will be putting some energy into getting OOo Case Studies going, as part of DDGTS' contribution to the community.
I'll start out slowly, since I'm new at this. I suppose that a reasonable place to start would be:
* Getting a list of companies willing to participate. Louis? Do you have such a list alrady?
* Figuring out what kind of information they should contain. And which case studies would be most significant. I'll need guidance here, but I'm happy to learn.
* What a Case Study should look like :-) Justin pointed me to these samples from MySQL:
http://www.mysql.com/it-resources/case-studies/mysql-cention-casestudy.pdf
http://www.mysql.com/it-resources/case-studies/mysql-citysearch-casestudy.pdf
http://www.mysql.com/it-resources/case-studies/mysql-pcit-casestudy.pdf
They look very good to me. Is this a model I should try to emulate?
* I've looked through the templates in issue 18858 and found: + Some templates for collecting information. + OOo11CaseStudyWorksheet-easy.sxw
These will be useful for answering my earlier question about what they should contain. So I will going over these for now.
All the other templates in this issue are very very old (2003). I notice that there is no template for the final case study. You know, something cool-looking and professional, like what the MySQL folk did. Since this task requires less knowledge of case studies, maybe this would be a good place to start.
Cheers, Daniel.
