Hi Charles

But once again Laurent: OOo needs money wether you want it or not....

i think that instead of guessing what Laurent has in mind (even on semi-public irc discussion he is not invited in ...) we should first state widely publically and officially why OOo needs money and first organize the OOo project as an employer

Speaking about foundation, i sincerelly think that mozilla one is an example and does mozilla foundation
- charge for extensions visibility ?
- charge companies doing xul development ?

i personnally really think that seeing extensions as cash flow provider is a mistake - speaking about commercial companies (that's their problem) but (and that's our domain) also for OOo. We will loose contributors and finally end with 2 levels OOo software: the default free (as idea and speech) one and the extended-added-value-propriatary one

so you're wrong, i'l totally open to any for-profit regarding OOo (for self funding purposes) but this needs organisational prerequisits that are not met at the moment and will not covered by the kopecks recolted though the extension way ...

of course , all of that, IMHO

Laurent
