Tested both *-src and *-bin distros. Looks good. There are some minor
snags in the poms, like profiles that need cleaning up.
FWIW, a -1 does not mean that the release is blocked. It is actually up
to the RM, if he's got the 3 necessary +1s.
I think the documentation needs significant in the next release, one
more reason to release often.

None of the instructions in the projects in the examples module have been
updated to use the new package structure. Anyone attempting to use them as
a guide will get an exception rather than a working deployment.
