Tested the tgz, deploying a range of apps to localhost and some clouds.

One minor thing. In the out-of-the-box blueprint "Bash Web Server and
Riak Cluster (Brooklyn Example)", when deployed to Softlayer the
web-server advertised its main.uri sensor as http://10.148.8.210:8020.
However, that is the private address and is not accessible externally.
When I instead used the "host.address" (rather than the
"host.subnet.address") I could access the web-server correctly.

Tested both *-src and *-bin distros. Looks good. There are some minor
snags in the poms, like profiles that need cleaning up.
FWIW, a -1 does not mean that the release is blocked. It is actually
up to the RM, if he's got the 3 necessary +1s.
I think the documentation needs significant in the next release, one
more reason to release often.

I also think it's unworthy of blocking the release. If others agree
then I
am happy to change my vote to +1.

Good catch. I think we should remove these examples, replacing them
with
more recent ones in the next release.
This can for the most part be done in documentation (is it even
referenced
in the docs? we can update this any time BTW).
So I'm inclined for this not to block the release (I see you've
voted 0).

None of the instructions in the projects in the examples module
have been
updated to use the new package structure. Anyone attempting to use
them as
a guide will get an exception rather than a working deployment.
Tests made:
* All artefacts are downloadable. All hashes match and signatures
pass.
* Source artefact compiles and unit tests pass.
* Bash web server with Riak deploys to AWS
* Simple web cluster example deploys when instructions corrected.
* Archetype generates a sensible project

* Verified download
* Unpacked, launched, and run several examples against localhost
and some
clouds
* Checked license
* Source build

- Downloaded successfully
- Verified hashes and signatures
- unzip -t / tar -t on all archives
- Launch binary
- Deploy catalog app to Softlayer
- Source archive "mvn clean install"
- Point custom downstream app to staging repository and test
