New recap [1]:
- CALCITE-7070 should be merged soon.
- We have a new PR approach for CALCITE-7122 that is worth taking a look [2]
- There are still open points for CALCITE-6239 / CALCITE-6263; these are
not simple questions, so they require a bit of time and decision making.
There's a lot of work behind this ticket, so if it possible it'd be nice to
resolve it and include it into the release.
- There are discussions / concerns around the (already merged)
ticket CALCITE-7184.

I'm afraid I'm going to be traveling next week, with limited access to my
computer. Considering these open points, and that the release process can
take several days or even weeks (if we have several RCs and votes), I think
it'd be better to delay the release. I propose that we continue working two
more weeks, finalizing these pending tasks (and maybe completing any
smaller issues that we can squeeze in), aim for code freeze at the end of
next week (around 26 October), and I'll produce a RC right afterwards.

Best,
Ruben
