Yes, loosing the dependency on logkit is imho good; but in the long term we want to loose the dependency to avalon as well (read again: long term), so my idea was to install an alternative *today* to provide a long migration period.I guess I would just leave the Avalon Logger constructs in and change the default implementation to use the JDK logger. Lose the dependency on logkit.
