IMHO most of the Java 5 features are syntactic sugar (generics, enums, etc.) which make little difference to the final product, they are "just" convenience for code writers. The one feature that could make an actual difference would be the use of annotations, to generate code or configs, for automatic documentation, etc. Considering Jorg's points, we might want to wait for a compelling reason to require Java 5, which might be some creative use of annotations. -Bertrand
