There is no canonical JSON representation specification. Any discussion about what would or would not compose a canonical JSON document is pure speculation at this point. Even if a canonical JSON representation did exist, and didn't include the final newline, I still agree with Antony's point that this can be regarded as a transport issue. I don't think it's going to be a problem.
