I think we actually need to do some cleanup of the NOTICE file. Some may be
able to be removed. For example, there are several dependencies such as Avro,
log4j, jsr-305 and joda-time that are not bundled in the the datafu JAR that is
produced. I've been reading http://www.apache.org/dev/licensing-howto.html and
it states:

DO NOT modify LICENSE or NOTICE for dependencies whose bits are not bundled.

of this licensing page.
