Hi all,
I've added an issue the other day that I described badly, and it got marked as being not-that-important.
However, I think it *is* important so I'll bring it up here to see if I'm just plain wrong or what. :)
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=42477
Some background:
Lets say you're a standard OOo2 user. When you want to work with a Word Processing document, you start up Writer. When you want to work with a Spreadsheet document, you start up Calc. When you want to work with a Presentation document, you start up Impress.
Following that logic, if you want to work on a Database document, you use Base.
Errr... no.
With Base, every time you launch it you either have to create a new database or create a connection to an external database.
Base has no option in it's startup wizard to "Open existing Base document". (i.e. one created 5 minutes ago in a previous session).
Impress's wizard has this option, and Writer/Calc don't even use wizards so it's even easier.
So, for the standard OOo2 user, if they want to use a Base document they have to start *anything other than Base*, close that, do a File -> Open, then go and find their Base document.
Errr... am I the only person who sees this as "bizarre", and needing to be "fixed" before we get to production?
Regards and best wishes,
Justin Clift
