Ah, okay, now I see. Yes, this would be possible. The original idea for the drivers is to be as independent as possible, but as lot of them already share a lot of code (in the dbtools lib), it wouldn't hurt if they'd share a little but more. (Looking at the PostgreSQL driver from Jörg, the advantage of being really self-contained is: it runs with virtually every OOo version. The disadvantage is: Jörg had to re-implement some stuff which is available as helper elsewhere.)
