Hi Patrick, The mdbdriver is alpha work which is not remotely recommended for work

For Information:

The OOo-maintainer removed the driver from OOo.
Thanks Mechtilde,

I;ll pass that along to the user at the forum - he'll get a kick out of
that as he states that his reason for changing was just to get Novell's
version of OOO and all the added MS compatibility and yes Access is one
of his needs.

So he had a chance to migrate to a better DBMS as backend. Then he can
use OOo as a very good frontend.

Here in the USA we have a term for that kind of logic it is
Making lemonade from lemons.

There is still that pesky little problem about migrating the data from the old MSA files.

Maybe the folks on the Kexi project have it right. When you try to open an MDB file it runs an import wizard ( no questions asked ) that brings everything over as varchars in a new database. I suppose one is then free to convert these varchar fields back to the appropriate data types at ones own convenience.
