I've been trying this out as well using my manuscript files for the
Conceptual Guide to OpenOffice.org book
(http://documentation.openoffice.org/conceptualguide/). It works very
well; the only issue I am currently having is I am getting an error
message when it tries creating the navigation. I am trying to
determine what I am doing wrong and will report back as soon as I find
out.
Thanks for bringing up this topic, Drew. I will work on getting the
Conceptual Guides book created into the full Daisy format and made
available through the Documentation Project site. At that point, feel
free to redistribute to the AFB, public libraries or anywhere you feel
this may be of value to someone.
Coincidently, I have been corresponding recently with a non-profit
centre in Ontario Canada that assists persons with disabilities who
are actively looking for employment and need assistance with job
searching and further developing their employability skills. Due to
the economic situation many countries are facing, they too are facing
significant cuts in government funding and are looking for ways to
reduce costs so that they can continue to maintain the quality of the
services they provide to their clients. They are in the process of
converting over all of their training computers, as well as staff
workstations, over to using OpenOffice.org.
To assist, I donated a number of paperback copies of my A Conceptual
Guide to OpenOffice.org 3 book, enough to supply each training
workstation, as well as instructor/staff copies, so that they would
have some printed instructional guides to help them get started. This
donation was received by the centre's director and staff with great
excitement and joy, and they wanted me to pass along their sincere
appreciation to everyone with the OpenOffice.org project, including
those creating documentation, for making the software and related
resources available. Having documentation / resources in the Daisy
format may also be able to assist this particular centre, as well as
others in similar circumstances.
Anyone who has any other suggestions like Drew's, or can suggest open
source utilities / tools that may help persons with disabilities use
OpenOffice.org, I would greatly appreciate any information you can
provide.

did you read the manual?
AFAIR it explains a bit how the extension works.
will push on, and drop todays files onto a server for others to check
out when I'm done today.
Good!
If there are any testers, I'd be interested too as until now, nobody has
given feedback on my translation ;-(
If I have the time, I'll try harder to install full daisybook
capabilities on my system.
