yes it was mostly for the debugging features - that required the use of
eclipse "internal" apis which are not backwards compatable (it is possible
to port it to run on 3.1, but it would not be that good a use of time).

Eclipse 3.2 final will be in june: http://www.eclipse.org/projects/timeline/

For releases like that, they are pretty good at hitting them. Most of us
have been using M5 for some time, and now M6 is out. They are quite stable.
