it is hard to say. A corrupted user/shared configuration could probably
have such an effect.
By the way, how did you workaround the mentioned by me issue in m8. I
assume you had a number of crashes at the beginning, that could probably
affect the configuration.
As a first steps I would suggest to do following:
- switch to m9 to do the clean tests
- if you can reproduce the problem with m9, please rename ( but do not
delete ) the user configuration folder so that a new clean one would be
created and test the scenario with the new configuration

As I wrote, opening the file via startcenter as well as loading it
