i have created a second patch based on 4.3 trunk of httpclient.
the patch contains:
* bundle activator
* proxy configuration mechanism (osgi config service/config factory with
multiple support)
* proxy selector (registering itself via java.net.ProxySelector.setDefault())
* client manager tracker for central shutdown of all clients
* patched HttpRoute for default proxy selection
* patched client managers to track themselves in the client manager tracker
what is still missing:
* handling proxy authentication - what would be the best location and way to
inject the authentication needs of a proxy?
