Srimanth Gunturi commented on HDT-32:
-------------------------------------

As discussed on mailing list, the easier path to union of functionality was to
port MapReduce functionality onto Hadoop-Eclipse plugins (that were renamed to
HDT).

As far as HDT-5, we can add tycho build capability to the new plugins. This is
trivial compared to patching internals, HDFS and ZooKeeper into existing HDT
code.
HDT-11 is already taken care of in the new plugins, based on the
extension-point based classloader mechanism.
HDT-15 is also taken care of I think due to the dependencies already being
packaged inside the plugins. We need HDT-5 like work to make the JARs pulled
through maven build.
HDT-21 is the work we really need on top of the new plugins to get to a union.
