Re: type name vs additional columns
By instinct I think latter suggests a cleaner approach while the former seems a
little "hacky" as we put semantics in the type name, similar to putting a
person's name and age in the same column. Having said that, I'm open to that
approach. I just wasn't clear about all the benefits of it besides trying to
save a schema upgrade.
