As the patch Mladen talks about was backported today you can checkout the latest 2.2.x branch via svn export http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/httpd/httpd/branches/2.2.x httpd-2.2.x With this you are closer to what you actual use with 2.2.0 then with the trunk.
