I think this is an improvement, not a bug. As I understood it the previous
default, target/generated-sources, is already a source root by default.
I'm concerned that changing the *default* output directory with no warning
could break users' builds, if they have other tools that use the current output
location. At the very least, this change should be documented in the changelog.
