Hey Stan, Just wanted to clarify -- KAFKA-14616 is not particularly related to JBOD but to ZK -> KRaft migration.
There were some other related migration bugs like https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/KAFKA-16180. This may or may not influence decisions, but wanted to paint the full picture of the blocker bugs and their causes.
