Also jumping in a bit late, there is a lot of good discussion above.

After reading all of the issues above I really think that KarafEE
really would thrive better as a OpenEJB sub-project (perhaps being
homed at http://openejb.apache.org/apache-karafEE.html).

As to the online registry I believe that Karaf Cave should provide
most of what we're looking for here :)
