AFAIK, if you fetched our file from the address in our issue 70827

I have checked vi win installer Ivo produced and it does have an
encoding issue. Neither installer ui nor the actual GUI in the
programs is visible in VI :(

Grrr...

my understanding is that Ivo is well aware of this issue and that he is working on this. My understanding is also that Ivo, once he fixes this, will create new builds to make sure you can perform sanity check on those before integrating the localization 17 into the master...

Ivo, can you please confirm?

I think he did say that, but I'm losing track of which list.

Aiet responded:

Thanks for the info. Yes, Ivo has already confirmed the existing
issues with the builds we mentioned.

As not all NLs have the ability to test their own language builds on
all platforms, we have just been trying to test as many builds as
possible to find out possible issues :)

Yes, this is a problem. If I'd been able to get an OSX build earlier, I could have avoided the disappointments experienced by our testing users so far.

I hope what I learn in this first release process will help me make things smoother next time, if we actually manage to release our translation this time.

It's really important that we do: we've had great difficulty getting anyone to participate in our effort to resuscitate the Vietnamese localization project for OOo, and it's only once the translation was actually complete that people started to believe we would have a release this time. There's now a lot of interest in releasing and promoting OOo 2.1 throughout Vietnam. If the release doesn't integrate our current translation, our name will be

1 en-US mud
1 vi bùn
