Amareshwari Sriramadasu commented on LENS-671:
----------------------------------------------

bq. After LENS-652, I believe user should be able to get the same partition xml
and make a PUT request with the same xml.
The readonly entity can still be there, but Lens wont read the value from that.
XPartition returned need to include other spec given from user - which was
missing earlier.

bq. When you do a POST or PUT, you provide time part spec and non time part
spec. When you get, you don't get what you had POSTed or PUT. You get something
similar, but different.
I agree this is a bug. But if it gives what you posted and more, is that an
issue? And the MORE that is given is readonly information and user updates to
the MORE are ignored by Lens.

bq. When you think about it, for the uninitiated, it's confusing that when he
adds one partition, and asks for list of all partitions, he gets two. Frankly,
the existence of 'latest' partitions is an implementation detail in lens and
the user of lens should not be concerned about that.
Latest partition is a documented detail in OLAP metastore that for SNAPSHOTTED
dimtables, Lens would query latest partition of the table. Whether latest is
separate partition or a partition is annotated as latest is an implementation
detail. But user might want to look at what is the latest partition of a
dimtable. There should be way for user to see whats the latest partition of a
dimtable.

Irrespective of XPartition, I want to discuss giving some read only information
for user as part of GET is fine or not.
I think giving readonly information is fine as long as it is communicated it is
informative purpose and updates to them from user are ignored by the server.
What do others think?

> Remove full_partition_spec from partition definition in cube xsd
