I think everyone is aware that the editor situation still leaves a lot
to be desired. IIRC we considered concentrating on one or two editor
interfaces and ceasing support for the others.
If we want to follow this approach, IMO there are two ways of deciding
which editor to support: according to current usage (survey on user
list), or according to technology and features. Which way would you
prefer? I have to admit that I'm in favor of the latter approach. I
think we can only provide a good user experience if the editor possesses
an adequate technological basis.
