Hi, it seems that the current situation in this project is a little bit unclear regarding dictionary maintenance.
On the discuss list Nicolas Mailhot stated: > FYI, Red Hat/Fedora (and probably others) consider OO.o the upstream for > hunspell dictionnaries, and are patching all their desktop apps (not only > OO.o but firefox...)to use those dictionnaries for spell checking > http://rpmfind.net/linux/RPM/fedora/devel/x86_64/hunspell-fr-0.20060915-1.fc7.noarch.html I wasn't aware of that and don't know if this is more than a special "idea" of the Red Hat folks, but anyway: at least there definitely are patches for hunspell dictionaries in our issue tracker and so we have to deal with them. Laurent Godard (on the same list) stated: > There is no structure to handle SpellChecker updates and i do it when time So I wonder how good this works for all the possible patches we might get or already got. Laurent, do you think that this feasible? Who feels responsible for issues assigned to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]"? Can we (means: all people interested in the linguistic project) do something to improve the current situation? Ciao, Mathias -- Mathias Bauer (mba) - Project Lead OpenOffice.org Writer OpenOffice.org Engineering at Sun: http://blogs.sun.com/GullFOSS Please don't reply to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]". I use it for the OOo lists and only rarely read other mails sent to it. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
