Neal, that discussion is exactly how a well-functioning project should work at the ASF. Things are discussed and then a decision is made. If consensus can't be reached, then the issue is dropped until it can be reworked. It's not always the best way of doing things because it can be slow at times, but it is how things work at the ASF when it comes to projects. There is no "King" here who just gets to decide by fiat, so the community had to be asked. -Grant
