+1 to your patch [~dsmiley], it's an improvement.
Sorry for causing conflicts, and sorry for having this big sudden discussion
about whether Lucene should adopt geo2d or geo3d as its preferred spatial math
under-the-hood, here ;)
These ideas can be explored in later issues; I don't think we'll sort it out in
time for 6.0.0, which is fine (these are all experimental APIs).
