We went through the Bug Scrub of the list of Bugs targeted for Mahout 0.9 release (on/around Nov 9, 2013) See below: 1. Mahout-1305: Rework the Wiki. Believe someone on the Dev Mailing Lists had volunteered to fix the Wiki and had actually started working on it, the person who had volunteered please take ownership of this JIRA. 2. Mahout-1297 - New module for Linear Algebra Scala DSL Mahout-1346 - Spark Bindings Both of these are assigned to Dmitriy and are targeted for 0.9. Should these be pushed out to 1.0? 3. Mahout-1299: Add optimized versions of timesLeft(), timesRight() to SparseRow and SparseColMatrices Presently assigned to Dmitriy and targeted for 0.9 release ??? 4. Mahout-1249 - Build tools around Mahout to check the training error of factorization and automatically detect convergence Mahout-1248 - Build tools around Mahout to use grid search with cross validation to tune hyperparameter lambda Both have been reported by Saikat Kanjilal. Saikat, if u r planning to work on these please assign them to yourself. Do you think we should push these out to 1.0? 5. Mahout-1273: Single Pass Algorithm for Penalized Linear Regression with Cross Validation on MapReduce Kun Yung had submitted a patch for this and was also talked about in the last Hangout, Ted do you think this is good to be committed? 6. Mahout-1286: Memory-efficient Data Model, supporting fast online updates and element-wise iteration Peng Cheng and Sebastian to follow up on this. 7. Mahout-1245: Move website to ASF CMS Isabel, could you take care of this. Also would moving to CMS fix Mahout-1304? 8. Mahout-627: Baum Welch Algorithm on MapReduce for Parallel HMM Training Grant, do we need to push this to Backlog? 9. M-1303, M-1317: Both assigned to Sebastian 10.
