It's actually the metadata transformer connector (under
connectors/forcedmetadata) that would be the right place to put this
functionality I think. The thread in dev agrees that the functionality is
important and useful, but I strongly suspect it is not merely useful for Solr.
Do you want to propose a patch for the transformation connector instead? Let
me know; I can do it if you don't want to.
