On the other hand this would mean a second color (black and blue), so

Just to be clear, is it the case that the color versions of the new
branding require a 2-color printing process to be rendered correctly?

Rosana posted the results from the IRC meeting (2010-07-02) [1]:

" - *black and white logo*: we have a version for black and white printers, it isn't an official logo."

If the black only logo is not an official one, the white only shouldn't be either.

I'd prefer being involved in design decisions ...

How would you recommend combining the new logo with two items of text?

        a. 'www.openoffice.org'
        b. some variation of 10th anniversary 2000 - 2010

I would think of the logo in the middle, "Tenth anniversary: 2000 - 2010" bent at the top and "http://www.openoffice.org"; bent at the base of the disk.

At the right and left we could add the gull orb, if this fits visually.

Superposing the gull orb and the logo is not allowed by the branding guidelines.

Don't know if I have the time for a draft tonight - perhaps I'll give it a try.

Best regards

Bernhard
