Hi Rupert,
I do like that method. So I propose to adopt it in Marmotta too. Opinions?
Cheers,

Hi
With Apache Stanbol we adopted the rule that
* Developers resolves an issue if work on it is completed
* Release manager close resolved issues as soon as they get released
(after the vote for a release passed)
The only exception are issues that do not get released (e.g. issues
about the Homepage, Integration Server ...) those should be closed
immediately.
Personally I do like this procedure as it is very easy (as a user) to
understand the current state
* open or reopened Issue: Not resolved yet. Maybe there is a patch or
workaround available
* resolved: I can use the SNAPSHOT version until the next release
* closed: Use a version>= the one mentioned in JIRA

Both, in JIRA and the IDE i have the option to close an issue without
resolving it before.
I think it's more a cultural question who closes an issue.

I can't check in Marmotta (didn't get the attachment)
Strange... the attachment went in my outgoing message, but it didn't
arrive to the mailing list. Anyway, this is the current workflow:
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/**608222/tmp/jira-workflow.png<https://dl.dropbox.com/u/608222/tmp/jira-workflow.png>
but in other Apache
projects where I can see the workflow in admin panel there is a 'Resolve
and close' transition directly from 'In prgress' to 'Close' [1]. I think
it
is the same for Marmotta as I can see the option to close when it's in
progress in the JIRA interface too, directly on the panel or under
workflow.
In the default workflow configured now we don't have such transition. So
maybe we can try to request it... opinions?
