IT WORKS !! NTLM really works with Maven RC4. I tested with W2000.
I used these settings , and it worked :-)
maven.proxy.username =USERNAME
maven.proxy.password =*************
maven.proxy.host =proxy.....
maven.proxy.port =80
maven.proxy.loginHost =myhostname
maven.proxy.loginDomain =myNTDomain

Some users reside inside a proxy firewall where NTLM authentication is used. Current
implementation of maven does not support this authentication mechanisms.
