Active collections (at least as currently implemented) are still subject to scoping issues that are so common in Maven when a new plugin introduces additional providers, etc. which are handled by a central manager component. That is, if this manager component cannot lookup the new provider implementation (because of realm scoping, etc.) then we still have a problem.
